Amana -"The Iowa Theatre Artists Company (ITAC) is gearing up for a major fundraising event to be held on Saturday, March 23rd from 8 am to 4 pm. The fourth annual 'Garage Sale AMANiA' will be held in the ITAC building with its traditional offering of multiple sellers from the Amana area selling a wide array of 'treasures' at garage sale prices. This year will mark the first time that the Amana Library will hold their Used Book Sale on the upper level of the building on the same day over the same hours. 'What a great way to support both non-profit organizations with all of the fun and activity under one roof,' states ITAC Co-Producer, Meg Merckens.
For information on renting tables (at a cost of $5.00 per table) and selling garage sale items, please call 319-622-3222 or send an email to: itac@southslope.net. Tables are still available. The sale will take place in the lower level of the ITAC building with the library sale upstairs. A $1.00 admission fee will be charged to attend this large indoor sale. All proceeds from the admission price and the rental of tables will go toward ITAC Educational Programming, which includes the college internship program. Individual sellers are responsible for their own sales. Garage sale items range from modern to vintage household items, clothing, cookbooks, toys, linens and a wide range of miscellaneous. Merckens adds, 'Last year we had twenty-three different sellers with over fifty tables of items to offer potential buyers. Each year seems to surpass the last.'
The Iowa Theatre Artists Company is a small, professional not-for-profit theatre operating as a 501(c)3 organization since 2008. 2013 will mark ITAC’s fifth year of producing live theatre in Eastern Iowa, and its fourth season in the former Barn Restaurant in the heart of Amana. A Fall Season of Scheduled events is in the planning. For more information, visit their website."
