Auditions for Dreamwell's Fictional Murders

Iowa City - Dreamwell Theatre is holding auditions for the world premiere of Fictional Murders at 7pm Aug. 28 and 29th at the Iowa City Public Library. Fictional Murders is an original play by Mike Moran and directed by Matthew Falduto which explores the consequences faced by a teenage boy who uses the internet to satisfy his desperate desire to connect with someone, anyone. It's a play about constructing one's identity in a digital world. The show will be performed at the Unitarian Universalist Society, Oct. 10, 11, 17, 18. If you cannot make the audition times, contact the director at falduto@dreamwell.com for an alternative time.

While some of the characters are teenagers, Dreamwell is looking for actors who are older teens or early twenties who can play younger. They will consider casting teens under 18, if they have parents' permission to participate as the play contains adult content. Auditions will be cold readings. No need to prepare anything. Scripts will be available on reserve at the ICPL.

"I'm really excited to explore this script with the actors as there's so much to unpack," said Falduto. "We have interesting roles for two older women, two younger women and one older man. And then the leads are really challenging roles for two young men."
