Celebrate the Child Opens December 13

Marion - Paraphrase Theatre, Marion/Cedar Rapids, will be presenting the Christmas drama, Celebrate the Child, on Dec. 13th and 20th (7:30pm) and Dec. 21st (3pm Matinee), at Christ Community Church, Marion. Written by Curt Cloninger, and featuring local actor Jonathan Swenson, this combination of “characters and carols” explores the birth of Jesus through the eyes of six different people whose lives were somehow intertwined with the birth of Christ. Both entertaining and deeply moving, the play invites the audience to “experience the Nativity” in fresh and meaningful ways.

Swenson is familiar to local theater-goers for his leading roles in such TCR productions as Fiddler on the Roof, Annie, and Guys and Dolls. For this special local performance run, Swenson has invited several well-loved TCR and Follies veterans to join him, including Doug Jackson, Tina Monroe, Lori Ferguson, LD Kidd, Gracie Schulte and more.
