Everything Goes

Footliters - In a spectacular celebration of American musical theater, The Young Footliters presents Everything Goes: A Broadway Review. All performances will be at The Englert Theatre in downtown Iowa City on Friday, November 2nd at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, November 3rd at 2:00 & 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, November 4th at 2:00 p.m.

The historic Englert Theatre offers the perfect backdrop for this collaborative project blending the best of past and present Broadway shows. The review features 60 members of The Young Footliters in song and dance routines as directed by Iowa City’s own June Braverman, who was recently inducted into Iowa’s Volunteer Hall of Fame. She is assisted by Musical Director Barbara Buddin, Choreographer Judy Carlson, and Assistant Director Katherine Mossman.

Director Braverman reminds the youthful cast that as Broadway musicals developed, they mirrored our social and political history in song and dance, educating us while entertaining. She selected music for this production to remind us of where this country has been while treating The Young Footliters cast members to a "heaping spoonful of American culture." She promises that audiences will leave the theatre humming tunes that their parents or grandparents sang.
