The Shadow Box

ICCT - ICCT's next show will be The Shadow Box by Michael Cristofer, directed by Luis Sierra. It runs November 2nd through November 11th. The 1977 Pulitzer Prize winning drama looks at the ways in which we confront death. Three terminally ill patients at a hospice confront their mortality. Joe is at peace but his wife, Maggie, cannot accept his fate or tell their son. Brian, an English professor, is being cared for by his lover, Mark, who is not pleased by a visit from Brian's ex-wife. Felicity, a cantankerous woman who is cared for by her daughter, fights to stay alive until her other, favorite daughter can visit. Cast and crew list is here.

Tickets may be purchased at J. Frahm Music, Technigraphics in Coralville, or at the Robert A. Lee Community Recreation Center.

In recognition of National Hospice and Palliative Care Month, a special dinner theatre performance will be held Thursday, November 8. A discussion with local hospice professionals will follow the performance. Proceeds from the event will benefit Hospice, the Johnson County Fair Board, and Iowa City Community Theatre. Tickets for the dinner/show are $45.00. Call Gary Shemanski at 319-325-0686 to reserve tickets and specify dinner entrees.
