What Are You Doing This Weekend?

Between musical comedies, old classics, dinner theatre and entire comedy festivals, there's a whole lot of theatre going on this weekend!

Let's take a look:

@TCR

TCR continues its production of The Wedding Singer on the mainstage. It's a musical comedy based on the 1998 movie (Thursday through Saturday at 7:30pm, Sunday at 1:30pm).

@Washington Community Center

Washington Community Theatre and the Harp Players are putting on A Dog's Life, a musical comedy about a man and his dog (Friday and Saturday at 7:30pm).

@Ox Yoke Inn

Old Creamery's Murder Rides Again, an old-west murder mystery, returns again for one more weekend (Friday and Saturday at 5:30pm).

@ITAC

Also returning to Amana is Woody Guthrie's American Song, ITAC's production of a musical about the famous folk singer, which uses his music to tell his life story (Thursday through Saturday at 7:30pm, Saturday and Sunday at 1:30pm, Sunday at 6:00pm).

@Coralville Center for the Performing Arts

City Circle opens Thorton Wilder's classic Our Town this weekend. Wilder's play won the Pulitzer Prize for drama in 1938 and was a major influence on modern theatre (7:30pm Friday and Saturday, 2:00pm Sunday).

@ICCT

ICCT is also opening a show this weekend - Kate Aspengren's House of Wonders. It's a comedy about a writer who consults a ouija board in an attempt to finish her book (7:30pm Friday and Saturday, 2:00pm Sunday).

@Various places throughout Mt.Vernon and Lisbon

As if the above wasn't enough, there's an entire comedy festival going on in Mt. Vernon/Lisbon! It's called the Cabin Fever Comedy Festival, and features a wide variety of skits, scenes, and stand-up. Full schedule here.

So start the spring out with a splash! Get out to the theatre!
