Auditions for Oliver!

Oster Regent Theatre - Open auditions for a June production of Oliver! will take April 16 and 17 at 7pm at the Oster Regent Theatre, 103 Main St. in Cedar Falls.

Auditions will consist of prepared songs and cold reading. Anyone 7 years old and up is encouraged to attend. Rehearsals will begin April 23 for a June 8 opening.

"Cast of characters include...

Oliver Twist, a workhouse boy 11-13 years of age, "A" below middle "C" to High "A"

Mr. Bumble, the beadle, a large pompous man of 55, "D" below middle "C" to "A" above middle "C"

Widow Corney, a workhouse mistress, sharp-tongued and domineering, "D" above middle "C" to High "A"

Noah Claypole, the undertaker's teenaged apprentice (a non-singing role.)

Mr. Sowerberry, the undertaker

Mrs. Sowerberry, his overseer

Charlotte, their bratty young daughter (a non-singing role.)

The Artful Dodger, Fagin's brightest pupil, 14-17 years old, low "A" to "F" above middle "C"

Fagin, an elderly receiver, he runs a training academy for young pickpockets, low "C" to "F" above middle "C"

Nancy, a graduate of Fagin's academy, and Bill's companion, low "F" to "F" above middle "C"

Charles Bates, and other boys and girls, approximately 20 needed, will double as workhouse orphans and may be part of Fagin's establishment

Bet, a 13-year-old lass in Fagin's establishment, who idolizes Nancy, low "A" to "E" above middle "C"

Old Sally, a pauper and old lady

Bill Sykes, a villain in his prime, low "C" to "E" above middle "C"

Mrs. Bedwin, the Brownlows' housekeeper (a non-singing role.)

Mr. Brownlow, an older gentleman of wealth and breeding (a non-singing role.)

Dr. Grimwig, a doctor (a non-singing role.)

Other characters include Night Watchman, Bow Street Runners, Workhouse Assistants, Vendors, Criers, and London Street Crowd. Oliver and The Artful Dodger may be cast as a boy or girl as they are demanding roles. The show is being directed by Greg Holt. Leonard Upham is the musical director and Abi Miller is the choreographer."
