What Are You Doing This Weekend?

Come out this weekend for some great theatre, whether the gritty or the silly, the down-home or the far-out! Here's a rundown.

@Riverside

Riverside continues its run of A Steady Rain, a drama by Keith Huff starring Martin Andrews and Jim Van Valen.

"Chicago cops Joey and Denny are best friends and partners on the beat until a series of harrowing events spirals out of control and threatens to change not only their lives, but their friendship forever. The pair must face the worse sides of themselves and each other in this area premiere of a thrilling drama about the deeply flawed and complex nature of humanity."

@The Old Creamery

For the little ones, Old Creamery brings us the classic fable The Hare and the Tortoise, adapted by Gene Mackey, starring Eddie Skaggs and Nicholas Hodge.

"It's Hurry U.P. Hare against Ponderous Plod in this magical and musical retelling of a classic. Everybody comes out a winner with live, professional theatre for the kid in all of us!"

Rick Adams and Ryan Westwood star in Harold Pinter's The Dumb Waiter, a classing of postmodern theatre.

"Ben and Gus, two hit men, are waiting for their boss to send them message of their next hit. All of a sudden, in their basement room, the dumb waiter starts up again and the tenants upstairs begin to ask for food. Ben and Gus begin to cobble together extravagant dishes with their paltry biscuits, crisps, and milk.”
