Dreamwell's "Writer's Skirmish" Opens July 13

Iowa City - Dreamwell's annual festival of new works, this year entitled "Writer's Skirmish," will feature full productions of contest winner Amy White's World's Teeniest as well as James Grob's Some Assembly Required and AfterWerx by Carrie and Richard New. The festival, coordinated by Matthew Brewbaker, begins July 13.

Amy White has had work performed at Mt. Vernon-Lisbon Community Theatre, Riverside Theatre, and by Dreamwell Theatre as part of Soldier's Daughter. World's Teeniest, directed by Matthew Falduto, tells the story of a woman who finds a child in her home... one who refuses to leave.

Some Assembly Required, directed by Meg Dobbs, humorously explores the meaning of freedom.

AfterWerx, directed by Brian Tanner, is the journey of two living people looking for answers in the afterlife to the destiny-altering moments of their lives.

All of these one-acts will be performed each night, July 13 - 14 and 20 - 21 at 7:30 at 10 S Gilbert St. in Iowa City. Tickets are $13 ($10 students & seniors).
