Was the Word for February 17

Iowa City - "Was the Word is Working Group Theatre's monthly spoken word and storytelling event at The Englert Theatre in downtown Iowa City. Each event brings together community members and local performers to share their words and experiences on stage to benefit local non-profits or community service groups.

This Sunday, February 17th at 7pm we will be joined by an exciting group of storytellers and poets including Janet Schlapkohl, Martin Andrews, Kate Krohn, Megan Gogerty, and Zora Hurst.

We are happy to welcome Mutiny in the Parlor as our musical guests for the evening. Beer and wine are available with proper ID.

Our non-profit beneficiary for the night is The Shelter House. Proceeds from the evening will be donated to this amazing organization.

Tickets are Pay What you Can at the door. This event is part of the Intimate at the Englert Series, presented by Hands Jewelers, with additional support from Little Village."
