Iowa City - "Fourth Room Theatre will be producing William Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing for our Free Classics Production this summer!
Following the success of last summer's magical Cymbeline, Fourth Room will return to the same idyllic outdoor setting with Shakespeare's classic romcom, Much Ado About Nothing.
Auditions will take place:
Saturday MARCH 22 from 12pm-3pm
and
Sunday MARCH 23 from 12:30pm-3:30pm
in the Schwab auditorium at the Coralville Public Library.
So mark your calendars!!
Auditioners may bring a prepared Shakespearean/Classical monologue up to 2 minutes in length, although there will be sides available for cold readings as well.
Please also be prepared to inform us of any conflicts you know of through the performance dates.
The show will run August 15th-17th and 21st-23rd with shows starting at 7:00 pm. Rehearsals are primarily mid June - August but we will hold text, voice, Shakespeare and character workshops starting in April/May. We are looking for actors who want to work hard and grow in their craft, and have fun in the process.

List of Characters:
Beatrice - Leonato’s niece and Hero’s cousin.
Benedick - An aristocratic soldier who has recently been fighting under Don Pedro, and a friend of Don Pedro and Claudio.
Claudio - A young soldier who has won great acclaim fighting under Don Pedro during the recent wars.
Hero - The beautiful young daughter of Leonato and the cousin of Beatrice.
Don Pedro - An important nobleman from Aragon, sometimes referred to as “Prince.”
Leonato - A respected, well-to-do, noble at whose home, in Messina, Italy, the action is set.
Don John - The illegitimate brother of Don Pedro; sometimes called “the Bastard.”
Margaret - Hero’s serving woman.
Borachio - An associate of Don John. Borachio is the lover of Margaret, Hero’s serving woman.
Conrad - One of Don John’s more intimate associates, entirely devoted to Don John.
Dogberry - The constable in charge of the Watch, or chief policeman, of Messina.
Verges - The deputy to Dogberry, chief policeman of Messina.
Antonio - Leonato’s elderly brother and Hero's uncle. He is Beatrice’s father.
Balthasar - A waiting man in Leonato’s householdl.
Ursula - One of Hero’s waiting women.
Friar, Innogen, Sexton, Attendants, etc."
