Crew for James and the Giant Peach

Waterloo - The Black Hawk Children’s Theatre has secured several local citizens as crew members to work behind the scenes during its upcoming production of James and the Giant Peach.

Ethan Sankey (Stage Manager) has worked on over a dozen shows at BHCT. He has six brothers and sisters and his family is in the process of adopting a boy from China. He plays guitar and piano. He will also be portraying James’ father in this production.

Sylvia Brown (Asst. Stage Manager) is a 9th grader at Peet Jr. High where her favorite subjects are English and Spanish. She loves music and has been singing for as long as she can remember.

Kristin Petersen (Costumes) is originally from Mason City and works as an Administrative Assistant at New Directions Counseling Services. She enjoys movies and biking in her spare time. She is married to Neal. She will be assisted by Jennifer Weber.

Annie Zeets (Make-up) is a Youth Minister with the Waterloo Catholic Youth Ministry. She is also a dedicated volunteer at WCP/BHCT. She is also a member of the WCP/BHCT Board of Directors. With all this going on she still maintains her status as a Domestic Goddess. She will be assisted by Jennifer Weber.

Crystal Waltz (Sound) is a music teacher at Irving Elementary. She was part of the last touring tent repertoire theatre troupes in Iowa. She raises praying mantises.

Angelle Waltz (Lights) is a student at Cedar Falls High School. She has appeared on stage in The BFG and Annie. She wants to learn how to rock climb. Ryan Swalve and Dustin Balm will be operating spot lights.

Kelsie Wolf (Props/Shift) has volunteered at WCP/BHCT for 12 years. She is known for having a different hair color every time you see her. She was last seen onstage in A Midsummer Night’s Dream. She will be assisted by Becky Ochoa.


James and the Giant Peach is the first production in the Black Hawk Children’s Theatre’s 50th Season. Production dates and times are October 3 and 4 at 7 pm and October 11 and 12 at 2 pm. For tickets call (319) 291-4494 or visit www.wcpbhct.org. Tickets are $10 general admission. #EscapeWithBHCT
