Mount Vernon – The Department of Theatre at Cornell College is proud to announce its production of Almost, Maine, written by John Cariani. This romantic comedy has received world- wide acclaim with productions by over 70 professional companies since its Off-Broadway debut in 2006. Wildly popular in high schools, this is a story that may be weird enough to show us what Love is really all about. Cornell’s production is directed by Artist in Residence, Ron Clark of Iowa City’s Riverside Theatre.

Almost, Maine opens November 7th in Kimmel Theatre on the Cornell College campus. The production runs November 7th, 8th, 14th, 15th at 7:30 pm, and November 9th at 2 pm. Tickets are $10 for adults and $7 for seniors and students. Cornell faculty, staff, and students are free with Cornell ID. Audiences are invited to return or remain in the theatre for a talk-back with the cast and crew on Saturday, November 8th immediately following the production.

Set on a cold, clear, moonless night in the middle of winter, all is not quite what it seems in the remote, mythical town of Almost, Maine. As the northern lights hover in the star-filled sky above, Almost's residents find themselves falling in and out of love in unexpected and often hilarious ways. Almost, Maine is a valentine from the edge with a dose of magic around the border. Costume design by Resident Costume Designer, Jenny Nutting-Kelchen. Scenic design by guest designers Peggy and Paul Sannerud. Lighting design by University of Iowa Professor Emeritus, David Thayer and musical composition provided by Felipe and Skye Carrasco.

Tickets can be reserved at the box office by calling (319) 895-4293 or e-mailing Boxoffice@cornellcollege.edu. Reservations are strongly recommended.
