A Christmas Story

City Circle - City Circle Acting Company of Coralville will present a delightful holiday favorite, A Christmas Story that recounts the hilarious tale of the Parker family's Christmas in the 1940s when 9-year-old Ralphie pursues his dream of owning "an official Red Ryder 200-shot carbine action range model air rifle with a compass and this thing which tells time built right into the stock."

Ralphie will go to any length to get it while struggling against the classic mother BB gun block: "You'll shoot your eye out!"

A charming holiday adventure for the entire family, this off-kilter adaptation of the classic holiday film is directed by Rod McCrea and Rick Crooks and set design by the award-winning work of Michael Blake.

A Christmas Story is based on the 1983 movie written by Jean Shepherd and adapted by Phil Grecian.

The play will run Thursday and Friday, December 13 & 14 at 8 p.m., Saturday, December 15 at 2:30 & 8 p.m., and Sunday, December 16, 2:30 p.m. at the Coralville Marriott Hotel and Conference Center.

Tickets are $14 for students and seniors and $17 for adults and are available at J. Frahm Music and the Coralville Recreation Center or by calling 319-248-1750.

Tickets for a special dinner and performance package are available for Saturday, December 15. Join us for a fully-catered holiday chicken dinner, complete with live entertainment and festive door prizes at the Coralville Marriott Hotel and Conference Center.

Tickets for this package include dinner at 6pm and admission to the evening performance; rates are $50 for adults and $45 students and seniors. Group rates are also available. Proceeds from this dinner will help support City Circle's youth education programs.
