Meet the Crew for WCP'S Seussical

Waterloo – "The Waterloo Community Playhouse has secured several local citizens as crew members to work behind the scenes during its upcoming production of Seussical™.

The Stage Management Team includes Linda Stamp and Julie Petersen. Linda is a teacher associate at Sacred Heart Elementary. She previously directed plays and musicals at Columbus High School for 8 years. Her family’s love and support is what gets her through every show. Julie is the office manager at New Directions Counseling who also works as a freelance interior designer. She is an avid quilter who also loves to bake pies, breads and cookies. Both women also serve on the WCP/BHCT Board of Directors.

Scott Schuster is the new Technical Director/Production Manager at WCP/BHCT. He was assisted on set construction by the following people: Robert Broderson, Tim Walker, Autumn Henderson, James Wiliamson, Jeffrey Hansen, Katie Albright, Cynthia DeVille, Alexis Samuelson, Kristin Petersen, Betty Goettsch, Ben Buie, Lucas Buie, Moira Buie & Skyler Ferguson. The props crew is being led by Props Master Marjorie Gast, who was most recently seen onstage as JULIET in BHCT’s production of Romeo & Juliet. She will be studying at the Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts in New York starting in the fall of 2015. Marjorie is an accomplished harpist and vocalists. She is being assisted by Austin Manross. Besides Austin and Marjorie the props construction crew consists of William Grimm and Alexis Samuelson.

Cynthia DeVille is a guest artist with WCP designing the lights for Seussical™. Betty Goettsch will be running the light board for the production. Betty’s credits for WCP/BHCT extend over 35+ years. Betty is a retired Science teacher and enjoys watching major tennis tournaments on TV. Brother and sister team, Sam & Kyla Wright will be on spotlights for the production.

The Wardrobe department is led by guest designer S.K. Buie. Her costume construction crew consists of Valerie Hanson, Katie Albright, Tim Walker, Ben Buie, Jeanette Buie, Lucas Buie, Moira Buie, Cassie Yost, and Kristin Petersen. The Costume & Make Up running crews are led by Cassie Yost, a local singer/songwriter. She was recently seen on stage in the WCP productions of Getting Sara Married and Sherlock Holmes and the Case of the Jersey Lily. Kristin Petersen & Sam Card are assisting Cassie.

The orchestra is being led by Music Director and Conductor Daniel Gast, a vocal instructor at Wartburg College as well as in his private studio. Daniel first appeared onstage at WCP as DADDY WARBUCKS in Annie. He previously served as music director for 9 to 5: The Musical. Joining Daniel in the orchestra is Bryan Houts on keyboards who also served as rehearsal accompanist. Bryan is a musician and choir director at First United Methodist Church in Cedar Falls. Brandon Fox will round out the orchestra on the drums. Brandon is a student at West High School and previously was selected to perform with two middle school honor bands. He enjoys mentoring younger drummers.
